The Coles Crossing Dads Club will host a graduation parade to celebrate our Class of 2020 graduating seniors. The parade will be held Saturday, May 30th, beginning at 10:00 a.m., utilizing the Fourth of July parade route. All graduating Coles Crossing Seniors are invited to participate. Due to COVID-19, we kindly suggest seniors ride in cars, on trailers or floats, with their household members and that spectators utilize the protocols below for participation. We encourage all seniors to decorate their vehicles and encourage their family, friends and neighbors to attend as they might have any other graduation ceremony or party.
To participate, seniors (and their household members) should arrive beginning at 9:30 a.m. outside Sampson Elementary. Vehicles will be lined up starting at the entrance to the cafeteria parking lot on Coles Crossing Drive pointed in the direction of Barker Cypress Road marked by the Coles Crossing Dads Club banner. Once the line reaches Coles Crossing Drive North, vehicles should turn to line Coles Crossing Drive North in a line stretching towards Telge Road.
Fire, police and sheriff will be on site for parade participation. For information or clarification prior to the parade, please contact info@colesdads.org. For information at the parade, please reach out to any member of the Coles Crossing Dads Club in our green member shirts.
COVID 19 Protocols
Consistent with the guidance by Texas Governor Abbott, the Coles Crossing Dads Club (CCDC) adopts the following protocol for anyone wishing to participate (includes seniors, Dads Club members, volunteers and spectators) in the Coles Crossing Senior Appreciation Parade, scheduled for May 30, 2020, at 10:00 a.m.
These minimum health protocols are not a limit on the health protocols that individuals participating in the parade may adopt. Individuals are encouraged to adopt additional protocols consistent with their specific needs and circumstances to help protect the health and safety of all.
NOTE from Governor Abbott website:
The virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to others by infected persons who have few or no symptoms. Even if an infected person is only mildly ill, the people they spread it to may become seriously ill or even die, especially if that person is 65 or older with pre-existing health conditions that place them at higher risk. Because of the hidden nature of this threat, everyone should rigorously follow the practices specified in these protocols, all of which facilitate a safe and measured reopening of Texas. The virus that causes COVID-19 is still circulating in our communities. We should continue to observe practices that protect everyone, including those who are most vulnerable.
Seniors or family members must self screen immediately before participating in parade. Any individual who has any of the following new or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19 must not participate in the parade activities:
· Cough
· Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
· Chills
· Repeated shaking with chills
· Muscle pain
· Headache
· Sore throat
· Loss of taste or smell
· Diarrhea
· Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
· Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19
